Heather Carpenter assessor: Fully Qualified & JCQ Compliant
Heather Carpenter assessor
Hello! I’m Heather Carpenter. I am a qualified teacher with DBS, having worked as a SENCO in secondary schools since 2020. I achieved the National Award for SEND Co-ordination [NASENCO] from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2023 and am mother to a wonderful high functioning autistic son. I achieved the Postgraduate Award of Proficiency in Assessment for Access Arrangements [PAPAA] in March 2021 and so have assessed hundreds of students for examination access arrangements at both GCSE and A Level.
I always use a wide range of current assessments in order to build a complete picture of need for students, parents and teachers. Believing strongly that a ‘tick box’ exercise of using minimal testing in order to secure extra time is flawed, I endeavour to build a fuller picture so that appropriate support can be put into place.
I work strictly in line with JCQ regulations and update my training annually to ensure that I am up to date with current guidance.
I have two modes of assessment open to you: I can come into school to assess groups of students, or I can assess on a 1:1 basis privately in Ashford or at your home. Please click the links for more information. There’s a Get in Touch option on each page.

Exam Stress Support
I have extensive experience supporting students with anxiety in school. I qualified to deliver the Mindfulness in Schools Project [MiSP] .b curriculum in 2020, practise mindful meditation in my daily life, and have delivered the course to hundreds of secondary school students. Much of the work has supported students experiencing exam stress and I have delivered full morning sessions to the whole of Year 11 as well working on a 1:1 basis with students experiencing high anxiety before the exam on the day. I have also spent 3 years working with students experiencing Emotional Based School Avoidance [EBSA].
I now offer in school, online and 1:1 exam stress support sessions. Click the Learn More button for more information.
